Bavarian Sons zu Besuch bei einem deutschen Wirtshaus in New York USA

Bavarian Sons goes USA: World Cup, road trip & new contacts

Soccer, road trip, Texas BBQ, and of course, Bavarian Sons.

The 2026 World Cup was the perfect reason for us to travel to the USA again. But this time, it wasn't just about soccer.

We wanted to experience the World Cup up close, meet friends, gather new impressions, and simultaneously continue to expand our contacts for Bavarian Sons in the USA.

So, we packed our bags and set off.

Start in Boston and right into the World Cup fever

Our trip began in Boston.

Shortly after our arrival, it was clear: the World Cup was putting the city into an international state of emergency. Fans from all over the world were out and about, jerseys were being worn everywhere, and people from the most diverse nations were celebrating together.

The time we spent with the Scottish fans is what stood out most for us.

We celebrated, toasted, and discussed soccer together. It is precisely this mix of different cultures and shared passion that makes a World Cup so special for us.

And, of course, the beer couldn't be missing. 🍻

Next stop: Texas

From Boston, we continued on to Texas.

Our goal: to cheer for Germany at the World Cup and, at the same time, experience as much of the Texan culture as possible.

After all, Texas is more than just another state. Huge distances, trucks, BBQ, Western vibes, and a very unique way of life.

That’s why it was important for us not to just travel there for a soccer game, but to truly experience Texas.

We wanted to find out how the people there live, celebrate, and, of course, what beer they drink.

And these very impressions are particularly exciting for us as a young beer brand.

Cheering for Germany: Thousands of kilometers away from Bavaria

Cheering for Germany at the World Cup while being thousands of kilometers away from home had a charm all its own.

Between German fans, American hosts, and international soccer fans, it quickly became clear how much sports can bring people together.

For us, however, the whole thing had another significance:

We weren't just traveling as fans.

We were also in the USA as entrepreneurs.

Bavarian Sons on a US tour

During our trip, we took the opportunity to visit several existing and potential importers and business partners.

For us, personal contact is enormously important, especially when building an international beer brand.

An email can establish an initial contact.

But a personal meeting, a beer together, and a conversation on-site are something completely different.

We wanted to get to know the people behind the companies, better understand the American beer market, and introduce Bavarian Sons in person at the same time.

Because our goal remains:

To make Bavarian beer from Bavaria accessible internationally.

The USA has been a particularly important market for us from the very beginning.

Back to Boston and off on the road trip

After Texas, we headed back to Boston.

From there, the second part of our journey began:

A road trip along the US East Coast.

Our first stop was Newport, Rhode Island.

From there, we continued towards New York City.

Different cities, different landscapes, different people, and plenty of impressions that we were able to take home with us.

For us, it was precisely this mix of business, vacation, and road trip that made the trip so special.

New York, Bavarian Sons & “Zum Schneider”

A special highlight of our trip was meeting with Sylvester in New York.

Sylvester used to run the German restaurant “Zum Schneider” there and still organizes pop-up events under that name today.

“Zum Schneider” is much more than just a name.

It stands for a piece of German and Bavarian culture in the middle of New York, and that is exactly why the meeting was particularly interesting for us.

Because that is exactly the idea behind Bavarian Sons:

To carry Bavarian culture and lifestyle into the world.

Of course, during our meeting, we also talked about beer, Germany, the USA, and the development of “Zum Schneider.”

And suddenly, Bayerischer Rundfunk was there too

Our meeting became even more special because Bayerischer Rundfunk (Bavarian Broadcasting) was on-site.

The BR was filming a video about Sylvester and “Zum Schneider” and included us and Bavarian Sons in it as well.

For us, that was a truly special moment.

We were actually on a private trip to New York and suddenly found ourselves in the middle of a shoot for Bayerischer Rundfunk.

You can't plan moments like these.

And that is exactly why they stick with you.

From New York back to Boston

After a few days in New York, we headed back to Boston.

To experience the city one more time, have final discussions, reflect on the trip, and then it was time again:

Pack our bags and head back to Bavaria.

With us, we had plenty of memories, new contacts, and many ideas for the next steps with Bavarian Sons.

Vacation or business trip?

In the end, it was probably both.

The World Cup was the occasion for our trip.

But while on the road, it became clear once again why we founded Bavarian Sons in the first place.

We don't just want to sell beer.

We want to carry Bavaria, Bavarian beer culture, and our own history into the world.

To do that, we have to go out, meet people, get to know markets, and build relationships.

And sometimes, this path leads from Boston to Texas, from Texas back to Boston, on to Newport and New York, and finally back to Bavaria.

From Bavaria to the world

Our US trip showed us once again how international the world of Bavarian Sons has already become.

New contacts with importers.

Conversations with potential partners.

A meeting with Sylvester from “Zum Schneider.”

A shoot with Bayerischer Rundfunk.

And in between: soccer, a road trip, BBQ, and plenty of American impressions.

This exact combination is what makes Bavarian Sons for us.

We want to build a Bavarian beer brand that doesn't hide its roots but carries them into the world with pride.

And who knows:

Perhaps on the next US trip, there will already be a Bavarian Sons on the table in New York or Texas.

From Bavaria to the world.

One life. Enjoy it. 🍻
